Lightheart Cellars

Events:

We will be open this weekend July 19 & 20 from noon to 5 and we'll be tasting 5 or 6 of our wines, and possibly doing some pre-bottling barrel tastings.

The Gilroy Garlic Festival  is July 25,26 & 27- we will be in the Rotary Club's WIne Pavillion for the fourth time. We'll bring our Merlot, Colombard and a Sangria of Colombard to complement the great food. Stop in and say hi if your're attending, and help us help the Rotary fund their good works.

Next week we're pouring at Santana Row's resident's wine stroll on Wednesday the 23rd.

We'll be starting to bottle on the 24th, doing the smaller batches such Petite Sirah and Syrah, before we take the larger ones (Pinot's, Chardonnay, Colombard, Lioness) to run on a local bottling line when our labels are in.

Vineyard Views:

Our vines are flourishing in the heat, harvest is looking to be in September again this year for the second year in a row. We're carefully monitoring the vines for stress and using as little water as we can to preserve the acquifer. So far we've had no issues. Wen you visit the estate, you'll notice the yellowing leaves at the bottom of the canes, indicating we're holding the water on the low side.
