We bottled the Cabernet Blend, and have a working fanciful name of "Lioness" to commemorate our sailboat, which shares attributes of classic grace and serenity. While we haven't been sailing her much due to the demands of running a winery, we're looking forward to releasing more wines and getting out to enjoy them during the America's Cup on the Bay.
Alderin's Meadery has produced a light and lovely Strawberry Mead, look for the release soon!
We've started to deploy netting in our vineyards, as the birds are letting us know that the fruit is getting ripe. To aid in the bigger vineyards, we've commissioned a custom modular applicator from the local welding shop, made out of 2" steel tubing and receiver receptacles to allow further uses
We had a great time at the Gilroy Garlic Festival, with the Thomson's - our Carneros Pinot and Chardonnay growers pouring the 2012 Chardonnay for us on Saturday, and the debut of our new Tasting Manager Maria Bruhns on Sunday. Maria is a well liked member of the Santa Clara Valley Wine community and we are glad to have her on our team. It was good to see all of our friends who stopped by, and we look forwards to seeing more of you during the Santa Clara County Fair.
We are awaiting TTB approval for our labels, so we are still having "barrel tastings" of our upcoming releases. The Rose is tasting really great, and our first blends are ready for prime time!
