Update: Construction, Pardon our Dust!
We are in the middle of re-roofing our building, and constructing a new larger Tasting Patio cover. Please pardon our dust, we will be done before passport and have an expanded tasting area with a lighter airy feel. Contactor Karen Grayson an old HS classmate of Sheldon, is in from Las Vegas to oversee the work, and our field crew Alex and Chris are getting more handyman skills to add to their repetoire. Sheldon has even been seen on the roof pulling shingles and staples in the afternoons. We will be open normal first and third full weekends, and look forwards to serving you, and describing the new look.
- Maria poured our wines at the SF Chronicle tasting at Fort Mason in SF last weekend and was getting rave reviews on the Cab Franc.
- We are contemplating being open every weekend starting in April (we will let you know when!) and we will moving our tasting hours to summer hours of Noon to 5 starting after Passport weekend.
Our pruning crews are almost done with Spring pruning, with Athena's, Soli Deo Gloria, our estate and Chirala vineyards done. We have some left at Behlmer's on the Colombard. Seeding a cover crop and futher weed suppression are ongoing and we look for budbreak in mid March if we are lucky. Hopefully not before then, and after at least one more good rain in about a week.
Joan has done our monthly topping and we are starting to plan for an earlier bottling this year to get the wines ready for release before harvest.
