Remember we are now open EVERY weekend from 12-5 for tasting and purchase.
As you know if you have visited or been following, we have been working on the tasting patio, and the pavillion is nearly done. Covering our expanded bar it provides shade and will soon feature a 55" TV with surround sound and lighting to allow us to be open later events. Keep us in mind for your private parties and please stop by and enjoy the ambiance.
We enjoyed participating in the Los Gatos and Morgan Hill wine strolls, and the Morgan Hill Award Winning WIne region event of 4/24. Keep this one in mind for next year (we will keep you posted!), it was an evening to sample the better wines from all of the local wineries, we took our top 8 to pour.
We've tilled and sprayed for weeds to reduce water competition and are now starting to turn on our irrigation systems. This is as mundane as turning a valve and driving slowly up and down the rows, replacing all of the blocked emitters and flushing the lines at the ends to get rid of silt deposits. Its always surprising the number of leaks due to animal bites, and tractor snags, but we get through in a few weeks. This year with the drought we will be subdividing our bigger blocks to allow for more specific watering.
Filtering of our whites has been done and we will be building and using a final absolute filter to further clarify our wines before bottling. This will also reduce the chances of spoilage of our wines. We will be filtering our reds on the way to the bottle as we rack and hope to see the results in the summer releases.
